GRP provides eligible commuters who get to and from work through WSTA’s Park & Ride Express Bus Program with a ride back to their point of origin when an emergency or unplanned circumstance arises while they’re at work. Point of origin: Where the commuter originated from (i.e. Park & Ride lot, only if it is where you were picked up from).
To be eligible for the Guaranteed Ride Program, you must use the Park & Ride Express bus to work at least three times a week, and live or work in Winston-Salem.
Qualifying modes: Park & Ride Express service only.
Qualifying Emergencies: Onset of illness while at work, unexpected overtime at work, emergency at home or your child’s school, or an unscheduled doctor’s appointment due to illness of the job.
Registration is free for anyone who lives or works in Winston-Salem and utilizes WSTA’s Park & Ride Express service
To arrange a ride back to your point of origin, call (336) 727.2000 between the hours of
Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. –8:00 p.m., Saturday:9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Inclement weather may affect service availability.
A customer service representative will ask you qualified questions, and once approved, you may call a cab from a list of companies that participate in the Guaranteed Ride program, which will be sent to your worksite.
Each passenger should provide their name, phone number, emergency, origin, destination, and mode of transportation.
You can utilize the Guaranteed Ride service up to three (3) times per year.
Yes, if both parties are registered with GRP, and the ride is counted toward the maximum rides per year for each rider.
