Winston-Salem Transit Authority welcomes new General Manager
The Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA) is excited to announce and welcome Donna Woodson as WSTA’s new general manager. Ms. Woodson will be responsible for managing WSTA’s day-to-day operations. Woodson and her team will focus on the identifying concerns of the route and schedule system, improving WSTA’s marketing program, pinpointing service problems that need attention, growing WSTA’s ridership; just to name a few items on her agenda.
Woodson joins WSTA with over 20 years’ experience in the public transit industry. She has held several positions with TransDev, formerly Veolia; a worldwide public transportation agency. Woodson takes pride in her strong background in the field of public transit. She has honed her skills in the industry by serving as a paratransit operator, supervisor, dispatcher, operations manager and general manager of several locations in the southeast; last serving as general manager of the Greensboro Transit Authority.
“I am honored to be a part of a transit system with such a long history serving the citizens of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. Without transit; everything STOPS! My vision for the citizens of Winston-Salem is to connect with every sector of the community to ensure safe public transportation with continual growth in a system that meets the demands and exceeds the expectations of our citizens and never STOPS. We are looking forward to doing some great things through our teamwork” said Woodson.
Robert Garcia, Chairman of WSTA Board of Directors, said “Woodson’s commitment to the highest standards of customer care, business ethics and her history of innovation makes her the perfect fit for WSTA”. Woodson started her new position on January 1, 2019.
