*shared ride specifically refers to a service designed for individuals with disabilities who cannot use fixed-route public transportation, requiring advanced booking and sharing the ride with other eligible passengers, whereas on-demand services can encompass a broader range of transportation options with potentially more flexibility in booking and may not be solely focused on individuals with disabilities. Trans-AID does not offer on demand service.

Trans-AID is Here to Keep You Moving – Let’s Talk About Some Exciting Changes!

We know how much our community relies on Trans-AID to get to work, school, day programs, and medical appointments – and we’re here to make that experience better than ever. Change isn’t always easy, but we’re committed to giving you all the details to help you adjust smoothly. So, what’s new? Let’s dive in!

1. New Scheduling System for a Smoother Ride

We’ve upgraded our scheduling system to better optimize trips from start to finish. Here's the deal: we’re now scheduling based on the drivers and vehicles available each day, ensuring we provide the best possible service.

How does this affect you or someone you care about?

  • More Reliability: We’re expanding availability by training new operators, customer service staff, and support teams.

  • Pro Tip: Book early! Trips can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance, and early bookings increase your chances of snagging the times you need. Once time slots fill up, we’ll do our best to offer alternatives – so flexibility is your best friend!

 2. A New Phone System (With the Bugs Worked Out!)

Our shiny new phone system is up and running! While we did hit a few speed bumps at first, everything’s been smoothed out. Here’s what’s happening now:

  • We’re spending time with riders to help them navigate the changes, which means call wait times are higher than usual.

  • We appreciate your patience as we work through this transition and educate everyone on how to book effectively for their unique needs.

3. New Notifications to Keep You in the Loop

No more second-guessing your ride! Our system now sends:

  • Night-before reminders to help you prepare.

  • On-the-way alerts so you’re ready when your ride arrives (no more waiting in the rain or snow!).

If your phone number is up-to-date in our system, you’re all set to receive these notifications. Bonus: cancellations are now easier than ever!

We know change can be tricky, but we’re dedicated to making Trans-AID better, more reliable, and safer for everyone. With these improvements, we’re confident we can get you where you need to go – safely, efficiently, and on time.
